Gymnastics
When she was a young girl living in Monument, she started to train in gymnastics. She used to dream of joining the Olympic games. She even got to skip level 6 and received an invite from the Karolyi Ranch.
Changing Paths
At the age of 12, everything changed. Her Olympic dreams got derailed by her kneecap, which had been broken twice already. After all of her training in the sport, we are sure that it was hard to change course.
Bullied
Something else played a factor in such a big decision. It turned out that she was bullied when she was training. We are very sad to hear that she had to go through this, especially when she was so young.
Isolation
This was the reason she gave golf a shot when she was 12 years old. She did not have a great experience with fellow gymnasts, so the isolation of the new sport must have given her a lot of relief!
Home School
Back then, she had been dividing her time between Scottsdale, Arizona and Monument, Colorado. On top of this, she had to be home schooled. This was the only way to set aside enough time for training.
Early Days
When she was young, she was able to win 5 tournaments in 7 tries when she was in the junior golf circuit in Colorado. It included the 2010 Connecticut Women’s Golf Association Junior Stroke Playback.
